So after a night in Krabi, we wake up and are frantically trying to call beach bungalows in Koh Lanta because we heard that a tuk-tuk from the pier to where the bungalows are is quite expensive.... BUUTTT if you book a place they come and pick you up at the pier for free! We call right up until the ferry leaves Krabi, but we finally manage to book a bungalow called Kangtienne Bay Resort.
The ferry ride from Krabi to Koh Lanta was packed! It took over two hours to get there, but once we were there we were picked up and taken to the resort. It was nice. The people that worked there weren't very nice, but everything else was pretty good! Our cabin was roomy, but falling apart a little. We were right on the beach and we could swim right there, so we really liked that. Koh Lanta is such a laid back island, not really a party one. We ate both nights at a place called the Drunken Sailor, it is run by two sisters and totally laid back. Great food too!
The day after we arrived we went on a diving day trip with a company called Go Dive Lanta! http://www.godive-lanta.com. We did two dives at a site called Koh Ha and it was the best two dives I have ever done! Our Dive Master was a woman and most of the people on my tour were women too, so for the first time ever when the only male on our trip was out of air, he went up with someone from the company while, the rest of us women swam around for another 20 minutes or so!! I had the longest dives ever, the first one I was down for 61 minutes!! The reef and the fish were amazing! On the second dive we saw an octopus and it changed so many colours for us. I had never seen one diving around before, so I could've stayed there forever watching. I am sure I was a tropical fish in a past life!!
The next day we were off to Koh Phi Phi!! To "The Beach"! I wish we had more time....
Best,
Kendra
